    The disease burden of a population, and how that burden is distributed, are important pieces of information for prioritizing and defining strategies to protect population health. For policy-makers, disease burden estimates provide an indication of the current and future health gains that could be achieved by targeted protection from specific risks.

  2. Protecting health from climate change: Global research priorities

    Experts on climate change, health and related disciplines produced background reports covering each of the themes identified by the WHA Resolution, as well as an additional report on how to support research in this field. This report presents the conclusions and recommendations from this process, with the aim of improving the evidence base for policies to protect health from climate change.
